Our History
Access Health Solutions is a minority owned and operated business headquartered in Sunrise, Florida. The company has evolved out of the growing need for giving information, infrastructure and incentive to primary care providers. Our organization is comprised of experienced professionals with managed care and healthcare backgrounds who have expertise in medical, financial and data management, federal and state government regulations, provider relations/network development, information technology, and pharmaceutical management. Our Senior Management team members have held and are holding positions in several successful health care companies.
Mission Statement
Our goal is to reduce healthcare disparities and increase access to care by providing quality, culturally competent healthcare through strong doctor-patient relationships.
Our Successes
- Since our inception in November 2001, we have saved the state over 70 million dollars.
- We have preserved the UPL for the safety net hospitals.
- We have brought awareness to the legislators and the executive branch of government regarding the need for culturally competent health care to help reduce health care disparities.
- We have been the voice of the disenfranchised provider.
- We have partnered with the Agency for Health Care Administration, Department of Health and other entities to be the vehicle to take information to the providers of health care.
Our Goal
We pride ourselves in our ability to help Primary Care Physicians identify their areas for improvement so that they are able to meet their goals and objectives for survival and profitability in their Medicaid/MediPass product.
Our Senior Management Team
Nelson L. Adams III, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
President / Chairman Is a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist and Chairman of the Department of OB/Gyn at Parkway Regional Medical Center. He is Vice President of the Dade County Medical Association and on the Board of Trustees of the National Medical Association, Barry University, Meharry Medical College, and Florida International University's Foundation. In 1993, Dr. Adams founded Access IPA, which is a multi-specialty minority medical association.
Richard C. Powell, CPA
Chief Executive Officer
Was Executive VP and CFO for TechHealth, Inc. a healthcare technology company, and also served as EVP/COO for HealthCare USA and VP of Finance and MIS/CFO for Chicago based Harmony Health Systems. Mr. Powell had a career for over 11 years as a CPA with the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand (now known as Price Waterhouse Coopers) focusing on the insurance, health and managed care arenas.
James O. Brookins, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Is a Primary Care Physician, Board Certified in Internal Medicine, President of the Bay Area Medical Association, President and Founder of Community Health Advocacy Partnership, Inc. (CHAP), a not for profit community outreach organization. Dr. Brookins was appointed by the Governor of Florida to the Pharmaceuticals and Therapy Committee.
Rudolph Moise, D.O., J.D.
Vice President of Business Development
Is Board Certified in General Practice, and is a practicing Primary Care Physician. Dr. Moise is a Flight Surgeon attached to the Homestead Air Reserve Station. He is also an attorney and serves on the United Way Board of Directors, is a Trustee and a member of the Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and is President and founder of the Kenbe Foundation, Inc.
Kathy B. Jackson, Ph.D., LHCRM
Senior Vice President
Is a Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager with a Doctorate in Health Administration. Dr. Jackson has held several senior management positions in the managed care industry, including Director of Customer Service for Humana Medical Plans, Director of Member Services for Family Health Plan, and Director of Statewide Operations for PCA Health Plans of Florida.
